Lockerbie is the first large town north of the Border on
the main road and rail routes between Carlisle and Glasgow.
The Crown Hotel is just
a mile from the motorway and a few minutes walk from the town's railway station.
Lockerbie is an attractive
town set in the heart of the rolling Dumfriesshire countryside. The area is perfect for cycling,
walking, fishing and nearby places of interest to visit.
Golf. There are no fewer than 10 excellent golf courses close by.
Cycling. There are numerous cycling routes around the area.
Walking. Lockerbie is close to the coast-to-coast Southern Upland Way.
Fishing. There are several great fishing rivers within the area and, at Lochmaben, coarse
fishing on all three lochs.
For children, the nearby Dalton Pottery allows them to create their own masterpieces.
There is also quad-biking and the whole family will enjoy a visit to Drumlanrig
Castle.
